Choose bare root roses this month, especially the recent All America Award Winners. They’re easy to grow and more resistant to pests and diseases than many older roses. Easy shrub roses with loads of bloom include ‘Betty Boop’ (multi-color), ‘Carefree Sunshine’ (yellow), ‘Livin’ Easy’ (apricot/orange), and ‘Outta the Blue’ (magenta with delightful fragrance and old-fashioned shape.
