Climate Zones

Question from Debbie:

I recently moved to Temecula and want to know what gardening zone I am in?

Answer from Pat:

Most of Temecula is in Sunset Zone 18, but if you live on an air-drained hillside you might be in a tiny microclimate that is more like Zone 19. Bougainvillea can be grown in Zone 19 but not in Zone 18. That might help you decide which zone your home is most likely within.

Here is a link to a gardener’s comment that has a list of plants you can grow in zone 11.
